New Moon Morris has ‘hit the ground running’ at the start of 2024. We’ve got so many great things planned. We are learning new dances, working on a new dance of our own – with very local roots, we’ve got new New Moon Morris local seasonal events coming up over the year – watch out for news of our Maypole event, as well as the events that we have been involved with over the last few years. We have already had our January Wassail, have a rapidly filling diary for the rest of the year, and are especially looking forward to: festivals, days of dance, fetes, the Tring Apple Fayre, and dance outs at pubs – especially with our friends in other sides.
Our wonderful ‘WebElf’ has set up this blog for us, so that we can share the things that we are doing through the year. You’ll be able to find out more about: what we’ve done, what we are planning, upcoming events, and how New Moon works.
New Moon Morris is a mixed, inclusive side. Our dances are from, or based on, English Morris tradition. We aim to give an excellent and entertaining performance, but above all to enjoy ourselves.
We are always recruiting, both dancers and musicians. Dancers need no previous experience, just be willing to give it a go. We meet most Tuesday evenings from 8:15 to 10:15 at Ivinghoe Town Hall, LU7 9EP. We are likely to be there every Tuesday until we start dancing out in May – after which it’s advisable to contact us beforehand. If you are dancing, wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. Just turn up and follow the music.
